Pam McSweeney

My name is Pam McSweeney and I am honored and humbled to have been chosen to be the next principal at St. John the Baptist in Vermillion.  Faith, family, friends, and football are things that are very important to me and in my life. My husband (Corey) and I have been married for 35 years and have two adult children who are alumni of St. John’s in Savage:   Sean (28) is a second-year urology resident at the Cleveland Clinic and Kathleen (25) is a conservator/guardian for Lutheran Social Services.  I am a passionate Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan,  born and raised in NE Wisconsin, but am also a big fan of the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Wild.  I have two dogs – Finn (g0lden retriever rescue) and Murphy (terrier mutt mix rescue) that keep me busy as an empty nester!

Our family moved to Minnesota from Illinois more than 24 years ago.  Before becoming a teacher, I spent 14+ years in corporate management for Sears, moving around the Midwest.  I discovered my vocation for teaching when I started volunteering and working at SJB in Savage.  My foundation of Catholic education began at Marquette University, where I received a B.A. in Communications/Public Relations.   I completed a teaching licensure program through the College of St. Catherine in 2006, and my Masters of Arts through the Murray Institute at the University of St. Thomas in 2016. A lifelong learner, I am currently finishing a certificate program in Catholic School Leadership through the St. Paul Seminary/University of St. Thomas.
