My name is Skyler Turek and I am so excited to be joining St. John the Baptist Catholic School as a preschool teacher. I graduated from Minnesota State University in 2023 with an Elementary Education degree, and have previously taught/assisted in classrooms of various ages within MN public schools and at a private school in Costa Rica. My passion for teaching children stems from being surrounded by children all my life and having a great schooling experience due to my amazing teachers. It brings me joy watching students learn inside and outside of the classroom in engaging ways, as well as building connections with each student to make a meaningful learning experience for them.
I have been part of this parish my whole life so I am aware and proud of the close knit community we are a part of. I was a student at St. Mary’s Catholic School and later taught CCD there for two years. It is an honor to have the opportunity to play an even bigger role within this community. During my time at St. John the Baptist Catholic School, it is a goal of mine to build connections with each student and ensure that they are growing both academically and emotionally through various learning experiences. I am excited for what this school year has in store and hope to make a positive impact.
