We believe students do best when they feel the support of the whole community. See our calendar for the exact dates of upcoming events.
Marathon: Students raise pledges and we walk around Vermillion with families, friends, and staff.
Fall Festival: St. John’s Parish holds an annual festival in September. St. Mathias holds a festival in August. St. Mary’s holds a sausage supper in October.
All Saints Party: On October 31 we have a party in our parking lot with free pizza, games, and treats.
Class Parties: Our classes have Halloween, Christmas, and Valentines Day parties led by room parents.
Christmas Caroling: On the last day before Christmas break our whole school goes Christmas Caroling to every business in Vermillion and enjoys hot cocoa afterwards.
Christmas Concert: All Preschool – 4th grade students participate in our Christmas Concert just before break.
Art Show: We hold an annual Art Show during Catholic Schools Week.
Pancake Breakfast: We kick off Catholic Schools Week with a pancake breakfast after Sunday Mass.
Field Days: Elementary and Preschool have separate field days where they compete in outdoor activities and enjoy treats.
Family Picnic: Families join us for hot lunch after Mass.
Teddy Bear Picnic: Preschool students parade Teddy bear floats through the school. Older students and staff watch and cheer. A preschool picnic is held afterwards.
Bingo Fun Day: A day of bingo, food, games, and friends. This event is held in May after a Mass.
Skateville: All Elementary Students go on a roller skating field trip during Catholic Schools Week.
Pizza Mondays: A parent volunteer serves pizza every Monday at lunch. Families may choose to participate.
Hot Lunch: Once or twice per month a group of parent volunteers serves hot lunch to students on Fridays.
Summer Event: We hold an annual summer event in late July or early August. This is a chance to connect in the summer and engage the broader community. Last summer we had a bubble party and in summer 2022 we will host a STEM night.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day: We invite Grandparents and Special Friends to a school Mass, a meal, and classroom visits on the Friday before First Communion. All students are invited to bring a special friend.
